Fixed it maybe! 200 1986

Ok not the Fuel system at all apparently. But the BB has lead me to the fix most likley, Ok still using wiggle words.

First tonight I ran the car until it stated to stall stumble and surge.

Then tried to put her in Limp Home mode by removing the AMM connector and (key in my pocket every time that connector was touched) it would not run at all. I would try to start at first, but would not idle. Then I reset the AMM connector firmly. One more thing I noticed and did before trying to start her was clean the contacts on the coil, they were oily from an oil dipstick popup from three weeks back and very corroded. Polished the connectors and degreased all the connectors and plugs and made sure I had good solid connections. Even replaced the coil wire, that one felt looser than I liked. Had two new ones in the part box.

Started her up and you could tell something was good different right off the bat. Daddy's piston slappin lil kitten was purring and smooth. Before there was this little hitch to the idle. Nothing rough, but not smooth as she is now. The feeling was like there was a slight vacuum leak.

Did not try limp home mode after cleaning the coil connections. Something for later, did drive it around the block about 20 times. Going to wait for daylight and take her out for a long run in the AM. Still using wiggle words you know.

Looking back at what I did this weekend, I installed new urathane bushings on the AC compressor to get that AC belt lined back up. Pulled the AMM loose to get at everything and my present thought is that I must not have made a solid connecton on the AMM putting in back on.

At least that is tonights thinking.

Regards,

PT
