My car INGE's power steering.

I have a 1978 245 named INGE and I have her pwr string pump belt off so I can drive her. She pulls bad to the left with the pump in service. How long can i drive like this? The steering is not hard to turn to me because I have drove a 242 for yrs with no pwr steering. I guess what I am wondering is there something in the pwr steering that is going to make the steering hard after awhile?
