Keep track of your mileage. Stray codes do indeed happen. Sometimes these computers get confused and throw codes. They're fairly primitive and don't have all of the information they need to make the best decisions.

Could be legitimate, though.... bad contacts or even a sensor on its way out. Keep checking on it.
