You will need grade 8 or better if your tabs are stuck. I stripped out a grade 5 trying mine. I wouldn't get threadeed rod either. I mucked about with the threaded rod until it stripped. Then i got a 1/2in X 9in fine thread grade 9 bolt and a bunch of flat washers it was a breeze. The grade 5 would flex. The grade 9 wouldn't. Any industrial fastener store will have one. I use Brofasco or Fastenal in Canada. You want fine thread too. 20 i think. Good luck!
