If twenty of us sent Chris $10 each to purchase the tools (we still don't know what's on the list), would he be willing to handle the overseeing of keeping track of what's out ot whom, shipping them etc.

I'd pay $10 to "join" and a nominal fee plus shipping to be able to use what I needed when I needed it.
