Overdrive in 144s? 140-160

Thanks. Am trying to evaluate the pros & cons of purchasing a 142 vs. a 242. The 140s seem to have a little higher rear end than the 240s, 4.1 vs. 3.91; so an o/d would help. But there's lots of other differences like OHV vs. OHC, A-arm vs. McPherson strut susp., cast iron vs aluminum head, carbs vs. FI, points vs. transistorized ignition, 15" vs. 14" wheels, worm & roller vs. rack & pinion steering. I bought a new 144S back in '68 & have had numerous 240s so I'm familiar w/both. Of course there's a lot mmore 240s out there than 140s & to find a good 140 is a challenge. Next week I look at an '80 242 w/4 spd. I'll look at it but wish it was a 142.
