Polyurethane vs. Urethane : Is there a difference?

Polyurethane is a polymer of urethane molecules in chains,
just like polyethylene is a polymer of ethylene molecules in chains.
"Urethane" as generally used is sort of a nickname for polyurethane.
Thus Polyurethane is the correct name for the polymer, but what is
often called urethane is the same thing.
