The saga continues 120-130

This is the sedan I'm talking about. The wagon had some issues with running the carbs on a B20E, but I's not in running shape right now and is pretty far from my top priority.

I'm not entirely sure what is happening with the sedan milage. I suspect I'm running rich, but I'm not getting sooty plugs. In fact they looked fairly coffee-stained when I was last trying to work out my ignition, which is supposed to be good. They got sooty when my ignition was 360-off because I was not setting timing to the compression stroke, but I did get all that sorted out.

Firing order is correct - believe me, I spent a long time dealing with that issue. Counter-clockwise distributor rotation. New points, condenser, rotor, cap, magnecore wires. Rebuilt low-pressure glass-dome AC fuel pump, unbroken 1/4" fuel line right to the carbs, large capacity disposable 5/16" fuel filter before the pump, my oil level is right at normal, never higher, replaced fuel tank (a little crud, but no leaks).

Plenty of power, good acceleration, no black smoke, no dieseling on shutdown. I may switch the fuel pump just to see if there is a change, but I suspect not.
My main odometer reads pretty true, but the trip has conked out again even with a new drive gear.

If the weather is ok this weekend, I plan to do some crawling under the car and closely examine the pump.

I'll let you know what I find.

Not to give the "nameless one" any credit, but could burnt valves cause these kinds of symptoms - even with excellent compression test results (all within 5 psi of spec)??

But remember. I do not "care about my car" I only drive a 40-year old volvo because I am "cheap" :)
