"Better call Autozone and make sure they have one of those 100 amp free lifetime warranty replacement Bosch Alt in stock just in case that is problem."

Before spending anything, check the alternator ground wire (usually Blue) from rear of Alt frame bolt then tucked under to ground at a bracket bolt.

It could also be in the VR/Brush unit -- or brushes themselves, as they are both in the ground path.

I've used a hand glass with the Bentley diagrams for years now.
