some questions on B27 to B21F conversion 200 1976

I have recently taken on a partially completed conversion from the original v6 to what I think is a B21F engine. The flame trap sits more or less by #1 cylinder and it has the older style metal timing cover-no marks by the oil filter area that I can find. The sticker on the timing cover reads 581-the engine serial # is illegible, a common problem I gather.
I am most concerned about the ecu box-I fear the one I have is likely from the original V6 and I am not keen on toasting the mass meter if it is wrong. The Bosch# is 0280 800 001 I have not been able to find a site that even references the number. I am sure if I could get my hands on a Bosch catalog for about a half hour I would be okay. Do I need the air mass meter# to come up with the proper box? Any help with this older fella would be greatly appreciated.
Just for amusement-the fuel pump will only run when the high beams are flicked on. My predecessor had a peculiar sense of humor!! Have found a wiring diagram for the 260 chassis, so I am getting closer.
Thanks for any assistance-Dan
