Apparently Volvo changed their badging from year to year in a somewhat random selection process. I've seen a lot of PV544's with all different kinds of badges.
I know my own car (1964) was originally a B18 in the 'putty' color. Not a sport, I think, as it seems to me that the Sport models only came in red. Please correct me if I'm wrong here.
Anyway, after a rather massive rebuild and 'upgrade', the car now has the B20 engine and the BW35 automatic transmission.
I don't see any indication (looking at the inside of the hood) that it ever had any badges on the hood at all. There is a '544' emblem on the cowling just between the good and the door. And of course the VOLVO letters across the front end. Again, no sign of any emblems on the trunk (boot) lid either, so it most likely wasn't originally a Sport model.
The best indicator of the precise year is the VIN plate. Besides the year, it will also tell you the original color of the paint and interior.
I'm pretty sure this subject came up a year or two ago, so try looking in the archives for 'VIN'
Does anyone remember the site that had all the VIN info?
Congratulations on getting all those cars, and good luck!
