As you already have the car, you might want to find the S.U. book on eBay. There are several different books that cover rebuilding and tuning the S.U.'s and pretty much any one will help you a lot. I think I paid about $6 for mine.

Remember that the S.U. is probably the simplest carb available, so once you learn how they work, you'll be an instant expert!



Also, keep an eye out for the S.U. tool set. They are small specialty wrenches and tuning tools that will greatly simplify setting up your carbs. They come in a vinyl pocket-sized folder. I have only one set, otherwise I'd send you my book and tool set.

I recently removed my muffler completely and use only the rear resonator that hides behind the rear bumper. I plan to have a shop make me a dual exhaust, since I already have the good 4-into-2-into-1 exhaust manifold.
