Actually, you don't have to use the resistor 140-160

I believe if you use a coil with higher internal resistance, you can dispense with the external resistor. The difference will be potentially not as hot a spark when cranking as the resistor is normally bypassed by the starting circuit. If I recall correctly, the coil should show about 3 ohms across the primary winding vs. about 1 ohm for a standard coil.
