Progress and a question 444-544 1958

OK,

Beautiful job on the restoration!!
The trick to the rock guards is that the bottom edge of the fender needs to have crisp edges in order for the rubber nipples to "grasp" on and stay there. I had to bring one of my fenders back to the body shop in order for them to repair one of the lower holes and grind away some of the undercoating in order for the rock guards to stay put. Also, I ended up using nothing to put the rock guards on - no soap, grease, etc. It seemed to be easier for me to allow me to grab ahold of the back of the nipple and pull it through the hole while moving it around in a circle. That's how I did it, at least.
Good luck!!

Tony
