That is an outstanding idea! I think Belinda posted something like this a few years back and this would be a good start to expand on.
I have heard that the problematic front shocks on the 4/544 cars can be replaced with shocks for early Corvettes (or maybe Thunderbirds) and the door/trunk locks are the same as used on Fords from around 34 to 48. The heater control valves are another thing that could possibly be replaced with a less expensive early domestic car substitute.
This really deserves its own thread or even a FAQ type area like the one for
the 700/900 series!
