No problems so far :-)
But I have taken precautions:
Nissen's 3-row HD radiator
'Tropical' Fan Clutch (from Dave Barton)
Volvo's auxiliary (towing) ATF cooler
TCB removed for accurate gauge indication
and the special wiring harness (viz., my Rolling article*) that would turn the auxiliary fan on if it got hot (normally it's only activated by A/C line pressure).
The first three are in all my cars ('84, which I use for towing, and my two '93s), and the last two in both the '93s, and they're all "badged up" like in the picture -- never have had a cooling problem.
I think that there's enough air flow through not only the grille but also the "under bumper" skirt that directs air up to the radiator.
