Occasionally, the speedometer works. My wife says it works more often in warm weather. I cleaned the wires at the differential; as expected, I found some bare wire... carefully separated the leads and coated them with "liquid electrical tape" to insulate them: speedometer still doesn't work.
OBD code says "vehicle speed sensor" signal missing.
I figured that the bare wire was the problem. Any suggestions?
PS Maybe this is related to another gauge problem?
Fuel gauge seems to get "stuck" at about an 1/8th of a tank. The little "reserve" light goes on/off and the arrow stops. I think it started after the 745 sat for a few months til I figured out that it needed a new RPM sensor... My thinking was that too much ethanol in the fuel "glued" the float in a stationary position.
Temp gauge seems OK.
