Hmmmm...
Indeed, the thumb comes in both a right and a left handed version! ;)
Kidding aside:
Once again, a trivial, but hugely useful tidbit from you, Art! :-)
Our '87 245's driver-side door has all of the signs of being attacked by an English major...but not just any, an Ivy-league english major (dramatic chord!).
First, there were speakers installed (secured with picture hanging wire) that were so deep, the windows wouldn't roll down ("that's OK cuz there's A/C"), I pulled those out and the window still wouldn't go down. Hum. I pulled the door apart, to find an *entire* eggcrate mattress thingy that was ripped apart and jammed in the door. Holy schmoly. While the eggcrate stuff was moist, I was relieved to not find any damage/rust in there.
Long story short, I couldn't get the top part of the armrest back in. It was a piece of cake when I did it on the '90, not so on the '87. I didn't realize that there was a separate, removable part in there. I'll have to check it and make sure it's installed right. Can you put those things in "backwards"?
Thanks!
-Ryan
