I hope I did this right: I drew a schematic in Inkscape to demonstrate what I'm talking about.

The 3/8" vacuum hose in question goes over and under the manifold to a T-connector that splices the vacuum to the climate controls. The rest of the length of the hose goes toward the front of the car and disappears under the airbox.
