Fuses...What fuse goes where? & an a small problem. 120-130 1968

Assuming you have the standard fuse box the top short dumpy fuse should be 25amp. I've not seen a 16amp version of this fuse. This one is the main power fuse and is switched by the ignition switch. Gives power to the wiper switch which also gives power to the fuel gauge and instrument lights. OD relay takes power from here too if fitted. You'll see that the top fuse.#1 has a bridging link to power #2. This connection is often loose and/or corroded. Clean properly and flow some solder into the joint to make it electrically good again. It will likely reduce the red ignition light glow problem as a good side effect. #2 gives power to brake lights via the pressure switch, reverse lights and horns. #3 is in the power supply to the side lights from the light switch. #4 Headlight flasher relay, under dash "glovebox" light from the light switch.
Fuse boxes often modded to fit standard glass fuses but a good clean and a bit of solder works well if you have a spare dumpy fuse or two. Rolling the fuses can cut the pointy end off the metal part of the fuse if done too often. Take them out to check. They may look fine fitted but won't make good connections.
Corrections welcome!
