Try calling a Volvo dealership. I did this and it worked for me. You should get a 6-digit numerical code. Note ALL numbers on the radio, not just the model number and serial number before you make the call. For some reason, I recall, that the other numbers on the radio had more meaning to them in helping me get the code. I didn't need a VIN number. They even asked if I had black or gray buttons. Seemed to matter.
