Throttle Plate Seal. 120-130 1968

Believe me, I have pulled and tinkered with these carbs many times. Adjusting the plate screws is no real problem.

I do actually loosen the idle and choke set screws, snap the butterfly shut several times, adjust the plate to be sure it is seating correctly, then (and only then) I tighten the screws. Then I snap it a few more times, be sure the plate is still moving freely and sealing up. Then I install it on the car.

I also usually hold the carbs up to a light to see how much light is showing around the plate.

In this case, the rearward carbs seals almost fully - while the front carb always leaves a crescent of light around the plate no matter how much I adjust it.

I've seen this problem in more than one pair.
