Brake light problem 700 1989

Wagon or sedan? The wagon has a separate bulb (1156)for the brake lights, the sedan uses a double filament bulb(1157)for the combo tail light/brake light.

You can find the grounding point by following the black wire out of the harness - one ground serves the entire side.

You can usually isolate the problem with a test light, a jumper wire and about ten minutes of circuit testing.
