1998 S90 Aircond problem S90-V90 1998

You do not say what mileage you have on the clock. If the high pressure switch does not solve the problem, you might check the operation of the compressor clutch, which can wear after 70000mls so that the clutch gap is to big and will not pull in. This may show up as the engine and compressor warm up. I think that the clutch gap should be about 0.04inch. To check this, when the air con fails and should be working, with a long stick carefully give the end of the compressor clutch a tap. If it clicks in, that may be the problem.
I do not know the layout of the S90, but I guess that it is similar to my V70, where the compressor is at the bottom of the serpentine belt. A new compressor is expensive and for a few hours work it is possible to adjust the clutch gap without removing the compressor from the car or disconnecting the hoses. You will find instructions on the VOC website, or I will post them if required.
