Yes, something is wrong, 2440 RPM at 60 MPH sounds right. Did the car come with the tach from the factory or was it installed later? If it was installed later, are you sure it's the 4 cyl version and not the 6 cyl version? You would know if your speedo was off by 10 MPH so that's probably not the issue.
