UH, yeah.
After being smart for about 5 minutes it occurred to me that the AC and alt run on the same belt.
The teeth were torn off it and it was sitting sideways in the engine. The belt that had been on there was a napa store brand belt with flex teeth.
The previous belt (which I kept for this kind of thing) has a real V shape and flex notches on the back, not the part that contacts the pulleys. I think it was a cheapo design.


Anyway, crisis averted. Fun with a ford taurus's rear brakes tomorrow.
