Update 120-130 1968

Well, I pulled the master this afternoon and swapped in a "wet" spare from the cabriolet. The old master was leaking rather badly from the rear seal. Meaning I probably have a pint of brake fluid soaked into my carpet padding..

At least the new MC is significantly better and is a much newer unit.

Both master and slave were leaking at the same time and both were rebuilt using ST kits about 6-9 months ago... I've rebuilt many hydraulic units before, but I've never seen a pair fail this quickly. I examined the bore on both with my finger and could not feel any scoring - but maybe that's a bad way to do it.

There were no dilithium crystals in there when I rebuilt them.

I should suspect scoring on both cylinders? If so, can that be cleaned up with a hone? I hate thinking that these master and slave cylinders are just throw-away units

The rubber in each unit seems to have broken down. Are these new seal kits made with inferior rubber?
