Rt tail light not working. 700 1989

My rt.rr tailight is really giving me fits.
I just replaced the whole rt.rr. tailight assembly&still can't get it to work right.
There is power to all the other lights&they work fine.the ground seems to be a little weak but I cleaned it up&now get pwr.to the bottom tail light wire BUT not to the bulb.
The owners manual's all seem to say that the right side should have white bulb holders&then black on the left.
All the 740's&940's in the junkyard seem to have black Bulb holders on each side.I guess the bulb holder is the problem BUT why not for the turn signal& emergency lights&brake light.That lights up but not the other filament???
Any idea what could be wrong???Thanks
