one other thing to keep in mind is the flanges... if the new driveshaft with the M41 is a big one, you'll need at least the flange from the donor car rear end. And if you do need to swap flanges.... the splines may not be the same. If that is the case (probably isn't), swapping the rear might be easiest after all...
