Why the dual shocks? 444-544 1961

Yes, a very nice car. The factory fitted twin shocks to the cars they entered in the Safari rally along with the disc brakes. The African "roads" or lack of them were just about the toughest test for any suspension and the PV's was designed in the '40s. The single shock is small and the suspension travel restricted for rallying so it needs all the help it can get. I note on this car you have rubber spring assisters so I assume that helps to stiffen them a bit to match the extra damping.
On the brake MC,It doesn't look like the cast iron Volvo one, does the twin output union swivel? The pipes look a bit vulnerable how they are routed now. It might be better to move it round so the pipes are at the top. Either that or a small skid plate.
