Correction:
My 940 return line is a 5/16" ID rubber hose that is spring-clamped to a pipe at the fuel rail. I should have looked before posting.
However it may "transition" to the thermo-plastic line before it gets back to the tank. At least that's what I've found on all 240 return lines at the tank end.
