Volvo 240, service light 1989

That is a service reminder light not to be confused with a check engine light. It is simply suggesting that you change the oil (I forget what the interval is for the light).

You can reset the light by loosening the knee bolster and reaching up to the back of the speedometer where you will find a spring loaded toggle. Pull on the toggle and the light will be out until the interval is reached, when you will need to do it again... unless you remove the bulb that illuminates the service light.
