my temp gauge 120-130 1967

Hello,

This will plug the hole nicely, but will not connect to your gauge as it is a thermister type electrical sending unit for an electrical water temperature gauge.

Your gauge is a mechanical insturment that has an ether filled capillary tube that is directly connected to the gauge. As the coolant gets hot, the ether gas expands and mechanically moves the needle.

Your neighbor probably cracked the capillary tube and released the ether gas.
