voltage? 700 1986

I am not sure about turbo/not pumps being different, I believe they both output the same pressure, but I have no basis for saying that... other than it sounds right to me.

But before replacing the pricey pump, did you check for voltage at the pump? or try supplying some directly to it with some loooong wires?
There's a circuit in the ECU that controls the fuel pump, and if it goes south.... you can have a no fuel pump situation like you describe.
