On the road car trouble blues....

Randy,

I've changed numerous pumps with the timing cover in place, no need to remove. One or two of the bolts/nuts are sort of hidden, but not that bad. If you have access to a garage/dry spot, you can do in a couple of hours or less. Only loosen the (PS pump on my 93) to get the belt off the water pump pulley. It may not come off, so loosen the 4 bolts first and slip the pulley and belt off together once tension is released. Drain block via drain plug under exh. manifold and loosen both end of the rad hose. Pull off at pump, turn up from rad end to save coolant. Swap out pump. I've found all these pumps to be about the same with the Volvo OEM perhaps a bit better. Good luck.

Mike
