I have to agree with Steve. Your other alternative is to buy a used one on ebay and hope it's better. Once they get to a certain age, it's all downhill.

You might want to shop around and find a unit that is more compatible with the look of your dash. Some of them really look out of place. There is a lot of good information here and people willing to share experience with install. You can get harness adapters that usually allow you to plug right into your existing.
