Hi all,
Been awhile since I've posted anything as my car has been doing great up until recently. My car is currently down due to some deteriorated wiring, bringing me to my question...
On my car (1980 242 DL, B21 with K-Jet, M45 4 speed no OD), there is a grey colored connector located on the firewall directly behind the cam cover not far from where the harness comes through the firewall near the brake booster. There are places for 8 wires though only 7 are used. There's a Red, Yellow, Black, Blue, Blue with Yellow stripe, Brown, and Green wires in this connector. My Haynes manual's wiring diagram doesn't show this connector, nor does it show a green wire anywhere in the vicinity of engine (except the one going from the Ignition Control Module to the Distributor, located nowhere near the grey plug mentioned above).
I know where the red, yellow, black, brown, blue, and blue/yellow wires go but I have no idea where the green wire (appears to be 14 ga, in the side of the plug nearest the brake booster) leads to or comes from. The wires are in the factory black plastic sheath and snakes down under the intake and disappears among the myriad of hoses and wiring harness bundles that go with the K-Jet system. Any hints or suggestions on this green wire? Is it simply unused on the 1980 DL model?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
