Thanks Dave;
Yes i have tried CTC for an adapter and had no success. Thn I got one from Napa here in Fort St John, but, as I said, the contacts on it are female, and I need male. I am going to try a local shop here on Monday, that apparently does trailers. I had previously been unaware of them.
As to the need for the horribly expensive Volvo harness, which I had to order out of Toronto and took two weeks to arrive. resulting in having to cancel my Christmas planned trip with a trailer), I had had the car to the local Uhaul shop. They were unable to figure out how to hook up their wiring to the Volvo. I then called Ed Schramm and Docksteader in VAncouver, and was told that I MUST have the European to NA harness to make it work. Thus the horribly expensive harness. Thats the price you pay for living in a northern BC burg where Volvos are an oddity.
Thanks for your advice, I really appreciate it. However, I have already perused the website you referred to and have not found what I need for this hermaphrodite Volvo harness. I think, if the local shop is unable to help me on Monday, I will snip the wires on the existing connector, and graft in a 7 pin flat blade recepticle, as they seem to be quite common and finding an adapter should be no problem. I hate to do it if only because the recepticle I bought has a really cool Volvo spring loaded cover! ;0)
Further advice is welcome!
