Pulley Timing Marks 1800

I also have the same problem. I can get my B20 started by twisting the dizzy, but I cannot get the motor to run properly without high idle at proper timing settings.

I am working on a theory that a vacumn leak is allowing to much air to flow and the engine races as we would expect. Retarding the timing will decrease the RPMs but the engine will not do much more than an idle, barely accelerate and heat up the exhaust manifold. I am waiting on a new gasket.

Get a rubber fuel hose and use as stethescope while motor is running. Explore and listen for air leaks or the sound of firing cylinders. As to where the leak might be, I am not familiar with the carb setups.

I hope this is helpful. I am going crazy trying to fiqure out and solve it myself.
