I like your practical approach to problem solving.

It sounds like you knew what you were in for and as long as you were not getting too sideways on 202, no problem... Winter is the worst for cars. When it is well below zero mine makes a bunch of squeeks, squeals, and groans until the power steering oil and everything else that is too cold warms up a little. I figure that it weeds out the weak links.
