will a b23 block bolt in place of a b21?

Make sure the engine rotation is the same.
I think it will be but they do build Counter Rotating Engines for boats.

Also, Are you running in Salt or fresh water? Inboard and I/O engines for marine use usually have different Freezeout Plugs and other little gems to make them stand up to salt water better.

Distr. in teh back..must be out of a 700 series Volvo. The 200 series volvos have the Dist up front...if you care to look for another donor
