The Mikunis have their float chambers on the bottom, like the HIF6.

I'm currently using the HS6 style heat shield, it does not shield the bottoms of the carbs completely however.

What I'm thinking of is to make a shield out of stainless that bolts right to the bottom of the airbox. Some kind of high temperature insulating material that would adhere to the stainless would be a great addition; I'm wondering if Dynamat might make something useful.

The Mikunis are mounted on rubber adaptors, not much heat getting through those...
