Well, to get up to date, I have replaced the intank pre-pump with the new one I got from IPD. While I had the pre-pump out I rigged up my 12V power supply with
alligator clip leads and hooked it up to the old pump and very carefully lowered it into the tank and sucked most(if not all)of the old fuel out. I
rigged a hose to the outlet and fed that into 5 gallon gas cans. I've also put 5 gallons of fresh premium gas in the tank. After that I was going to downjack
the car off of the jackstand and I noticed that one of the rubber donuts that hold the front muffler in place was broken. Fortunately, I have a spare. So I
went to install it and while doing so I found that the bracket that holds the donut at the car end was loose. Upon further investigation I found that the
bolt that holds that the hole is stripped so I have to drill it up and retap it to a larger size. It snowed today here so I wasn't really motivated to go
out in the cold to deal with it. I'll keep you posted. Thanks, Charles
