It would help if you always included the model year of your car.

First guess is fuel injection relay.

Second guess is the rpm sensor (crank position sensor) if you have one- they came into use in 1989. Prior to that they used a hall sensor in the distributor; either one would be a suspect for what you describe once you look into the first guess....
