Those points in the base of the distributor have nothing to do with ignition.
They fire the injectors.
They can get oily enough not to make contact and when they do, only one pair of injectors works.
Also the plastic pusher that rides on the distributor cam can wear or break so that even if they look good
they will not work in the distributor.
Both of the above have happened to me with the result that only 2 injectors worked.
The second one was harder to figure out because the trigger points worked fine out of the distributor.
I had to check them with an ohmmeter while cranking the engine to verify the problem.
(Caution - keep your elbow AWAY from the nose of the ignition coil!)
