Oil Changes - Miles vs. Time in the engine

This is soley my rules. Not based on anything other then, That's how dad did it and I get a lot of mileage out of my engines this way.
I cahneg my oil every 300K miles. Regular oil , not synthetic. In a case like you where it takes 6 months to get there. I'd probably change it at 3 month intervals. Condensation builds up in the oil whether you drive the car or not.
