Oh joy...

Many stereos have an adapter that comes with it. I bought a Kenwood and it had a thin metal shell that allowed me to fit it into my dash. The wiring was a pain in the ass though.

If I remember right I didn't have the wiring harness, or else it only worked for power and not speakers. I ended up having to rewire all my door speakers, which wasn't so bad, since they were new speakers too. But it wasn't a quick pull-and-swap job like I'd hoped. Good luck!

I've installed sound dampening in 3 of my doors so far and it GREATLY improves the quality of music. Highly recommended. The sound doesn't get lost in the door cavities and it gives much better mid-bass. I can't wait to do the floorboards to cut out road noise.
