Sounds to me like a load of hog warsh designed to part folks with their money. Maybe Chevy had poor design issues.. Volvo, in my opinion, did not.

If you feel you have a ball joint friction issue, or some other binding issue, find it and fix it. In my opinion, 140 road response is fantastic as it is.. especially early non-power assist cars.
