In that hose that runs from the air cleaner up to the engine, take it out and take a close look at it. Give it a stretch in one direction and then the other. What you are looking for is any cracking or tearing in that hose that would allow air to leak in, effectively changing what the engine thinks it is getting for its volume of air.
