Sure there is an adjustment at throwout rod at slave, but first you need to check and assure fluid is there to transfer clutch pedal action...so check fluid level, then action at rod of slave as pedal is pushed...also, if it's much easier to get it into gear when engine is OFF (and not turning transmission input shaft), that also suggests no throwout action...
